Changing permission and ownership

File and directory preferences can be adjusted in the Get info panel.

Change the owner and group by selecting them from the drop-down menu or typing in their UID/GID and set permissions by checking or unchecking the relevant box.

Select File > Get info.

Change the values in the Permission & Ownership section.

Click Apply to enclosed items... (You may be prompted for your password)
